Eye Studio Sampler / Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Mascara

I received this eye sampler as a wonderful gift at Christmas time. I admit I love false lashes more then anything else and often wear them on the daily, and yes I said daily. I love make up and more importantly love long thick lashes with a bold lip as my every day look. But sometimes I do just wear mascara and when I am wearing mascara alone I am VERY particular on what I like and use. I have used many, many mascaras...in all price ranges and my top three brands are Dior, Maybelline and Lancôme. Even though those brands are the crème du crème for mascaras in my opinion, I am always seeking and trying new brands just to make sure I’m not missing out.

But back to the eye sampler in this set you receive 6 deluxe size samples of mascaras so you can try them all out and whatever one ticked your fancy you receive a coupon of free full size mascara. The brands are Shiseido, Clairns, Elizabeth Arden, Benefit, Lancôme and Smashbox. Below I have rated the mascaras brand performance and ranked them out of 5 –

         Shiseido – Perfect Mascara Full Definition               

Designed for short and fine lashes it’s easy to handle brush gives length and volume to the shorts lashes. Smudge proof removes easily

Out of all six mascara Lancome and Elizabeth Arden were my favorite. Lancome mascara I gave a 5 out of 5 because I think Lancome is a top leader when it comes to performance, although I didn’t pick it I got the best results.  I ended up going with Elizabeth Arden because I was really surprise how good it made my lashes look and it’s not a brand that I ever use. I really like the length and the fullness I get from this product on my lashes. The wand takes a little getting use to. The bristles pack a lot of mascara; I found it stays on all day, and gives beautiful long sexy lashes. It is comfortable for all day wear and comes off easily at night. 4 out of 5 stars because the bristles on wand need a little work!

MINI BODY SHOP HAUL-

I recently went to The Body Shop because I have been eyeing their Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Balm but ended up with a little extra goodies as well.

Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Balm-

This cleansing balm is designed to remove makeup and impurities away and leaving your skin feeling clean refreshed.

I personally love The Body Shop skincare and use their Tea Tree Oil face wash daily for years now, but this particular product blows me away. This is the best cleanser I ever bought. No other cleanser has ever removed makeup as gentle or as effective as this one. Just like the description says, it literally melts away the makeup, even on the eye area, and it doesn't sting or blur the eyes. It leaves my skin is smooth and silky. Not greasy or oily at all! Just a little bit goes a long way, so the price is well worth it. I love the pleasant smell too. I will definitely buy this again and encourage you ladies to try it out.

Strawberry Eau De Toilette-

In the past I have bought and used the body mist in Strawberry and just love the scent. It’s very light and wearable not over powering at all. The strawberry scent is very sweet and fruity and the toilette contains strawberry extract, which is a nice feature. But the bottle is a third the size of the body spray, and they work the exact same, but this costs more and comes with way less. The smell is gone within 10 minutes honestly. So when I run out of the toilette I repurchase the body mist instead.

Vitamin C Energizing Face Spritz-

I love this product. It's quick and easy to use - just spritz it on your face when your skin is feeling dull and you will instantly have a radiant glow! TIP- this product also works great as a setting spray after you applied you makeup it locks it in place and doesn’t make you look matte at all!

Clinique Review

Just a few weeks ago Clinique was on GWP (gift with purchase). Which is a promotion when you purchase a certain dollar amount (in this case $31.00 or more) you receive a gift, which contains deluxe sizes of their products. Below are reviews and my thoughts on the items I purchased- 

Eye Defining Liquid Liner-

First off I just couldn't get a nice fine line with this product. I found it was difficult to apply the product it dries before you're finished working on the eye.
 It goes on thickly and wears off in an hour or lasts 8 hours depending on what other makeup I am wearing. Sad to say I’m not impressed with this eyeliner.

Bottom Lash Mascara-

The small wand makes it so much easier to reach all the lashes on my lower line and it’s also good for reaching the smallest lashes in the corner of the eye. Makes my bottom lashes voluminous looking and gives them more length. I highly recommend it but its not a must have.

Review on Capture Totale Foundation

I've used many different foundations and even though this one is a bit pricey it is phenomenal.  The foundation goes on like a dream, feels soft and leaves a nice finish (not too matte and not too glowy - just in between). It looks really natural and feels hydrating too.
 The next day, I notice that my skin feels good too.

This foundation is a little bit on the expensive side retailing $85.00 but its quality is a lot better then most foundations. You only need the tiniest amount too! But overall, the foundation did stay put. I have stopped using this foundation everyday and now I’m just saving it for special events but this foundation can be used everyday due to the light-medium coverage it gives. I think this foundation is a brilliant buy and I will repurchase it in the future!

Review on - Joico K-PAK Products!

I recently purchased Joico K-PAK shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioning treatment and so fair I’m loving the results.

My hair feels well conditioned and silky but not weighed down with this. It makes my hair feel so much better. Smooth, shiny, stronger. My hair is extremely fine textured and prone to protein loss and breakage. 

I haven’t been using to for long so I can’t say it helped hair loss and breakage but the overall quality of my hair has improved greatly. Are you a deep condition fanatic like myself? If so, what products do you love let me know in the comments below!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone! 

I needed to pick up some items at the mall and

decided to treat myself for this oh so special day. I can't wait to try Mac's Mineralize Skinfinsh in Lightscapade.

 I was originally going to get Mac's Soft and Gentle which I've had before and loved, so I thought why not try something different. I'm also on the hunt for the perfect baby pink lip that suits me and I'm feeling like it's impossible. I always feel like it washes me out or its just light and looks like I have "foundation lips". I'm still on the hunt but I picked up Mac's Please Me, it's more of a coral pink but it was the only one I was feeling. Any suggestions on a nice light pink lip for fair skin tones? Please let me know!

Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12 hour Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15

Let me just say that I love this stuff. It's medium coverage but is buildable to full coverage. I have very fair skin with pink to neutral undertones. I got this in "fair beige," and the color is absolutely perfect. My skin looks amazing, and it stays matte for a good 9-10 hours. Plus a little bit goes a long way. I don't have to set it with powder, and it's very pigment dense without having to use a lot of product. And it's so creamy that if you wanted to mix it with moisturizer, you could. You can dab it on with just your fingers or even a stippling foundation brush to blend it together I personally prefer to use my Beauty Blender (which is a other obsession of mine)

So some of the PROS and CONS-

PROS: It’s winter here in Canada and I’m finding my skin dry and I don’t find itching to dry patches like some foundations (it makes the dry parts looks moisturized and the oily parts look matte), it stays very matte (but about 9 hours), it has very good coverage, you don't need to use a lot, there is no funky smell, it has SPF, it doesn't transfer/rub off to my clothes or hands, and it doesn't turn orange. Best of all, its cruelty free! 



Cons: The price in Canada its $49, which isn’t unreasonable but still, is expensive to some but I tell you it’s worth it. Another con for me is the SPF, I always prefer my foundation to not have it I find when I take photos I can have a white cased, although have experienced with this foundation. I personally like using sunscreen or a SPF moisturizer if I’m looking for sun protection.

But overall I am a convert. I will buy this again and again. This is a great foundation, from a wonderful make up line that’s formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens- Sulfates- Synthetic Fragrances- Petrochemicals- Phthalates- and cruelty free. What are your thoughts on the foundation or any other Tarte’s products?

Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz

Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz hands down the best brow pencil I've ever used! I have very thin sparse eyebrows and usually don't leave the house without at least filling in my brows, I have tried plenty of drugstore pencils and powders, and the first time I used this brow wiz I was amazed at the finished result. The formulation of the brow pencil is so smooth and perfect for whatever brow look you're trying to achieve. If you want a lighter, more natural look, all you have to do is just be more light handed with the pencil, and if you want a bolder brow, you can just be a little more heavy handed.

My eyebrows now look fuller, defined and sculpted when I fill them in, but in a natural way, not harsh at all, you can build up the intensity of it but I'm not a strong brow lover I like a more natural brow. 

I love that it also brings a spoolie on one end for more convenience. It's hard to tell how much product comes in the pencil but if I'm very satisfied with the result, I don't mind paying for a good product, Can't wait to try out more of Anastasia's products. Bottom line, go try this stuff it's freaking awesome, I will def continue to re-purchase! Have you fell head over heals for the Brow Wiz? I would love to hear your feedback on Anastasia’s products or your must have brow pencil?

Mac's Candy Yum Yum Lipstick

   

I just recently purchased Candy Yum Yum lipstick from Mac & I absolutely LOVE this lipstick. It is a bright, neon matte pink. It's super fun! It is a bit of a daring color so if you are not into brighter, bolder lip colors you might want to try something a little bit more toned down and work your way up to Candy Yum Yum.I also purchased Mac's lipliner in Shock Value which was recommended by the Makeup Artist and I do love them together!
